A quick report on Wanda to day
On arrival it was raining, so myself, Lynette, Mark and Peter waited all of 30 min before anything happened. Mark was first to start setting up followed by myself and Peter - the rain had stopped and did not return.
Adrian was next to arrive closely followed by Bruce and Ray. Mark, Peter and myself flew up to The Wall early in the day before the breeze swung more south. By the end of the day you could fly 200 meters short of Boat Harbour. Lots of racing with Bruce. An amazing day was had, I know I rave about the Malibu, and I'm going to do so again... it was so much fun flying 10 cm above the ground on the lower dune with Bruce. I could not believe we were flying the lower dune it such light conditions .
For the days finally Bruce landed elegantly in the set up area, so I thought would land in the same position, but had forgotten to let him pack up or move his glider - he had no time to do either! Not to be out finessed I landed on him ( crashed into his glider ) slicing through his leading edge with my front wires without damaging his sail. I'm hoping that's the only damage other than my pride.

Another great day at Wanda, 12 gliders where flown - all the different coloured gliders in the sky looked terrific. Dr Craig and NIls are looking at upgrading their Funs for malibus and I don't think it will be long before Mark Doherty is looking to get a Malibu to.
Plenty of footage was taken my myself and my lovely wife Lynette.
A great day was had by NIls, Dr Craig, and Matt all from the northern bitches, Peter, Mark, Ken, Martin, Rob, Wayne, Shannon and Lynette, Paulie and Mel are all looking forward to another day like today.
Fly safe Shannon

I think it needs to be said in view of the traffic today that passing gliders should heed the following.

Normally downwind Gliders find it difficult to gain height and so should be given the "low road"when passing.

Neglecting this, when gliders are meeting head on at altitude, (lol) any glider diving low when meeting an oncoming glider is normally demanding the "low road" this action usually indicates that they wish to pass leaving the other glider on the "high road" and hopefully continuing with their direction.

Hogging the launch is a no no as others are waiting to take off. One or two chandelles is fine after take off but please move on and clear the launch area.

Another top day at Wanda sand dunes.

Happy Landings
